DAY TWENTY SIX: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

DAY TWENTY SIX: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

Okay friends…put your big-girl and big-boy pants on today. We are going to PUSH into some hard places. After all this time training together, you are ready for this workout.

If you have just stumbled upon this post, please go back to Day 1 of the 31 days and start from the beginning. If you get off the couch and jump into this workout, you might not be able to walk tomorrow. And really…what’s that going to prove other than the fact that you wish you had handrails next to your toilet?

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. – Romans 8:14-17

Day Twenty Five: Weight Loss God’s Way

Day Twenty Five: Weight Loss God’s Way But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Day Twenty Four: Weight Loss God’s Way

DAY TWENTY FOUR: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

You did some heavy lifting yesterday! Well done. Taking your stand against fear and fighting the good fight of faith can be exhausting.

I think God appreciates an exhausted foot-soldier. (Not all the time, but from time to time.) It’s evidence that you stood your ground wearing the full armor of God. And like every good captain, he is required to pull exhausted soldiers out of battle who have been on the front-line for too long. Some rest and recovery time is in order.

Day Twenty Three: Weight Loss God’s Way

DAY TWENTY THREE: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE, BUT FOOLS DESPISE WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION. PROVERBS 1:7

Each day when we make decisions, we are either making our decisions based on love or fear. Love moves toward being uncovered, known, and vulnerable while fear runs away. Running away is the kind of fear that the world knows. It’s the fear that you and I experienced as children when we disobeyed our parents and feared punishment. This is worldly fear. This is small and trembling fear. This is NOT Godly fear.

THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE. BUT PERFECT LOVE DRIVES OUT FEAR, BECAUSE FEAR HAS TO DO WITH PUNISHMENT. THE ONE WHO FEARS IS NOT MADE PERFECT IN LOVE. 1 JOHN 4:18

It’s important we talk about fear in our training time together. I believe it is at the very root of why you make some unfavorable choices. You feel alone, not seen, or not heard and that leaves you feeling vulnerable and afraid. So you overeat to comfort yourself or you calorie restrict to earn love, approval, and affection from others. Just like an abandoned child we will do whatever we have to do to survive. Fear keeps us running hard and long.
