DAY THIRTY ONE: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

DAY THIRTY ONE: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

Congratulations! 31 days. One month. We did it! I say “we” because I pray you are absolutely marvelously ruined to the truth that God is the hero of your story. You and I just partnered up with him for 31 days as he fought the fight you could not win apart from Him.

I pray your old ways of approaching health and fitness feel like chains around your feet. But most earnestly I pray that you are aware, more than ever, that you are a whole person. That Jesus came to proclaim good news to the whole you, to bind up the whole you, to release from prison your whole self, and to set your captive heart free to follow after God. That wherever he is going, he wants your whole self to come along, too. In the words of Elizabeth Elliot, “You can’t give God your heart and keep your body for yourself.”

Day Thirty: Weight Loss God’s Way

DAY THIRTY: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

In our last WOD (workout of the day) together…let’s do HAPPY!

But first let’s talk about happiness.

The world is consumed by the pursuit of happiness. We try a little bit of this and a little bit of that hoping to GET happy. “You deserve to be happy”….oh what a dangerous saying. In the echoes of that statement marriages implode, careers get trashed, and bodies go under the knife.

Solomon was the wisest and richest man to ever live. He went on the ultimate pursuit of happiness; sex, wine, food, money, knowledge, and power were all his for the taking. And in the end he found it all empty and lacking. Sound familiar to your fitness pursuits?

Day Twenty Nine: Weight Loss God’s Way

DAY TWENTY NINE: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

We are beginning to wind down our 31 days together. Are you sad? Don’t be. God is in a good mood over you! The truth about God is He is good. He is always approachable and gracious towards us in our times of need, and everything he does always ends in good.

God’s glory is his goodness.

I am heavily hopeful that you are beginning to get your “sea legs” for seeing fitness more as a means to an end – the end goal to glorify God with all of who we are and all that we have.

Day Twenty Eight: Weight Loss God’s Way

DAY TWENTY EIGHT: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

You know that saying, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime?” Today I am going to teach you to fish.

In today’s training you will work the three planes of motion that support every body for activities of daily living. Some parts of this class will feel odd and hard and that’s the perfect place for you to train and grow!

DAY TWENTY SIX: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

DAY TWENTY SIX: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

Okay friends…put your big-girl and big-boy pants on today. We are going to PUSH into some hard places. After all this time training together, you are ready for this workout.

If you have just stumbled upon this post, please go back to Day 1 of the 31 days and start from the beginning. If you get off the couch and jump into this workout, you might not be able to walk tomorrow. And really…what’s that going to prove other than the fact that you wish you had handrails next to your toilet?

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. – Romans 8:14-17

Day Twenty Seven: Weight Loss God’s Way

DAY TWENTY SEVEN: WEIGHT LOSS GOD’S WAY

Love God. Get healthy. Be whole. Love others. This is what we are doing here, in God’s ministry of Revelation Wellness. I know you probably signed up for this free 31-day program in hopes of shedding a few pounds and feeling better about the body you are in. I am cool with that. I also know that there is so much more underneath that desire and God has been faithful and good in drawing you here so I could have the honor of speaking love and truth into your tired and weary body and soul.

Day Twenty Five: Weight Loss God’s Way

Day Twenty Five: Weight Loss God’s Way But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:21-22 The Gospels often talk about fruit…fruit that our lives will produce when we are living lives in Christ. Fruit is organic and… Continue reading Day Twenty Five: Weight Loss God’s Way
