I have been re-blogging some of my older posts – and as I am reading what I have written, I’m quite amazed at my growth over the last couple of years. There are some things that I have mentioned in my writings that are no longer an issue to me. There are other aspects that I am still battling with, but not quite so much as then.
It seems that slowly but surely I am walking this road and although as I focus on each step it feels like I am getting nowhere. But, as I look back, and I see the distance I have covered, I have come a long way. And for that, I am so grateful.
I am grateful for the grace that God has shown me in my growth. And His immense patience for giving me chance after chance after chance. Every time I lose weight, I freak out, I put weight back on and still God is patient with me. I am so grateful that He loves me and is gently walking this road with me. I love my God and I know that He loves me. And while I may still have a far way to go in learning how to be a victorious Christian, I know that God is forever and always on my side.
Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Did you read that? DESPITE ALL THESE THINGS – OVERWHELMING VICTORY IS OURS THROUGH CHRIST, WHO LOVED US.
Victory is ours. We can walk, and talk, act, believe and be Christians who actually look like and actually do have victory in their lives. Through Christ Jesus. Because He loves us. Isn’t that just amazing?
Thank you Lord for the work you are doing in my heart, my mind and my thoughts. Thank you that in you I can have victory in my life. And that in your all grace and forgiveness abounds to me. Lord, you are beautiful and wonderful and I am ever so grateful for your love. In Jesus name.
